Gary Lawson
Founder & Managing Partner
Gary brings decades of experience and broad networks to the pursuit of winning outcomes for clients and partners. He has extensive experience advising U.S. military and government stakeholders on myriad complex engagements to accelerate leading edge capabilities for the warfighter, as well as providing tailored solutions for innovative venture-backed companies and investors seeking opportunities in this rapidly growing and developing sector.
Raised in Coronado, California, in a military family, Gary graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served on active duty as a Marine Corps infantry officer. After earning a JD/MBA from the University of Virginia, he joined Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division, covering aerospace & defense, industrials and metals & mining, and later was a senior member of Merrill Lynch’s M&A team.
He has completed more than $35 billion in aggregate transaction volume across M&A, IPOs, venture investments and private placements — including a $25 million Series A as CFO of an early-stage energy technology company. Gary holds Series 79 and 63 registrations through USQ Securities LLC.
